8CountNews caught up with the former UFC Middleweight World Champion, Anderson Silva. The legendary former reigning champion wanted to share with his fans that he's okay, and still continues to heal from a severely broken leg that he suffered during his rematch Vs. current champ Chris Weidman.

Silva also wanted to make another thing clear. He wants Roy Jones Jr in a boxing match! Silva tells 8CN that his dream is to fight Roy Jones Jr in a boxing ring with strictly boxing rules. No kicking, no ground and pound, just straight boxing. Roy Jones Jr has accepted Silva's challenge. In order to make this fight happen, UFC boss man Dana White has to give Silva the green light.

Check out what else Silva had to say in this exclusive 8CN interview.

8CN - How are you feeling champ? How’s your leg healing up?

AS - It’s good. I’m working hard to heal my leg. I think it will be about 4 months and I’ll be ready to start training to fight again.

8CN - So you definitely want to continue fighting?

AS - I am ready to keep fighting yes. MMA is my life, but my dream is to fight Roy Jones Jr in a boxing match. I have to talk to Dana White about it.

8CN - Do you think Dana will clear you to fight Roy Jones?

AS - It’s my dream to fight Roy. I have talked to my manager about it, and we will talk to Dana to get cleared to make it happen.

8CN - Has any of your management talked to Dana about this up to this point?

AS - I talked to my manager and told him that I want the fight. He will talk to Dana more about this. This is my dream. To fight Roy Jones Jr. in the boxing ring would be a dream come true. I have the style of course for MMA, but to fight Roy would be a great achievement.

8CN - So just to be clear, you want Roy in a boxing ring, and to fight strictly by boxing rules?

AS - Yes, just boxing. I won’t have to kick so it’s perfect. MMA is my life, but again, boxing Roy Jones is my dream.

8CN - How much boxing training have you done?

ASWell I love boxing, I train in boxing all of the time. I started boxing training a long time ago. I love the sport of boxing.

8CN - Do you have any message that you want to share with your fans?

AS To my fans, I will be back! I’m taking the necessary time off healing my leg. I am spending time with my family, but I have plans. I’m excited to fight Roy Jones Jr when I come back. I won’t have to use my leg. I will have a lot of confidence. My dream is close. to fight Roy Jones Jr in a boxing match is something that I very much want to do.
