Estrada takes split decision over Viloria in China

In April 6th action from the Venetian Macao Resort in Macao, China, Juan Francisco Estrada (23-2, 17 KOs) took home the WBO and WBA flyweight titles with a gritty 12 round split decision over Brian Viloria (32-4, 19 KOs). Late round dominance secured the decision for Estrada as he ended up winning by scores of 116-111, 117-111, and 113-115.

Also on the card:

Roman Martinez (27-1-2, 16 KOs) defended his WBO jr lightweight title with a 12 round split decision over Diego Magdaleno (23-1, 9 KOs). Scores were 115-112, 114-113, and 111-116.

Flyweight Zou Shiming won his professional debut with a four round unanimous decision over Eleazar Valenzuela (2-2-1, 1 KOs). Scores were 40-36 on all three score cards.

Super bantamweight Yasutaka Ishimoto (22-6, 5 KOs) took home a majority decision over former WBO champ Wilfredo “WV2″ Vazquez Jr (22-3-1, 19 KOs). Scores were 95-95, 96-93, and 95-94.

Flyweight Milan Melindo (29-0, 12 KOs) rumbled to a 4th round TKO of Tommy Seran (18-2, 9 KOs).

Featherweight Dodie Boy Penalosa (11-0, 9 KOs) impressed with a 3rd round KO of Nimithra Sithsaithong (4-5, 3 KOs).

Super featherweight Paul Fleming (18-0, 13 KOs) scored a 4th round TKO of Ryusei Yoshida (22-6, 10 KOs) after a cut over Yoshida’s left eye signaled for the stoppage.

Super bantamweight David Penalosa (6-0, 4 KOs) defeated Cheroenchai Sithsaithong (4-3, 3 KOs) by way of a brutal 2nd round KO.
