Either the entire Manny Pacquiao camp are compulsive liars or they don't know the difference between a signed contract and a verbal agreement. Despite recent reports by multiple news sources, including 8CN, and ESPN's Dan Rafael, Floyd Mayweather during tonight's NBA All Star Game said that he hasn't signed a contract, nor has Manny Pacquiao.

Rafael on ESPN just a few hours ago reported on live TV that Pacquiao has put "Ink to paper" and we're just waiting for Floyd to sign his side. 8CN reported that the fight is a done deal based on two sources out of Pacquiao's camp, both of which informed 8CN that Manny had signed the contract. Our sources said that Pacquiao signed his side, and they were just waiting for Floyd to sign his side, but that Floyd had agreed to everything. So that said, either Pacquiao's side are all compulsive liars, or Floyd Mayweather Jr just lied on national TV. Does anyone actually believe that Floyd just lied on TNT in front of a packed house and millions of viewers? Doubtful. Floyd probably has not signed anything yet, hence the fight is not done. The Pacquiao side now has

Taylor Stripped IBF Belt Vacated Jermain-Taylor

February 6, 2015, Springfield, NJ – The IBF Middleweight title, which was held by Jermain
Taylor since October 8, 2014, has been vacated. It has been widely reported that on January 22,2015, Mr. Taylor surrendered to authorities in Pulaski County, AK, was placed in custody and isdue in court on February 10, 2015. Reports have also indicated that Mr. Taylor would be moved toa state hospital to await an evaluation which will take place by April 27.
Rule 5.C. of the IBF/USBA Rules Governing Championship Contests states in part:
"Any boxer who is ill, injured, under a legal impediment which would prevent the bout from takingplace, or on suspension at the time the Championships Chairman and President order a bout underthis rule shall be considered unavailable."

It is the opinion of the IBF/USBA that Jermain Taylor's confinement has effectively rendered
him unavailable to prepare to defend his title at the time the Championships Chairman and the
President are due to order his mandatory bout. Furthermore, his confinement prevents him fromactively negotiating with the leading available contender under Rule 5.D.1. For these reasons, theChampionships Committee and the Board of Directors have decided to

The Beau Rivage in Biloxi is building a name as the go to place for premiere fights East of the Mississippi. That sentiment was proven Friday Night when fans were treated to a televised professional fight card. In a night, which should have featured, IBF Middleweight Champion Jermaine Taylor instead showcased a battle between Sergio "The Latin Snake" Mora (28-3, 9KOs) and former martial artist Abie the "Sun City Warrior" Han (23-2, 14KOs). "The Latin Snake" received no point deduction for slippages in rounds 2 and 3, causing Han to advance his prowess and get a 'clear' 10th round knockdown. Although Mora entered the ring as the crowd favorite, the final decision clearly caused a visceral divide between fans and the judges' outcome. Mora wins the USBA Middleweight Championship by split decision. Scores were114-113 Mora, 115-112 Han, 115-112 Mora

Mayweather / Pacquiao Fight Still Alive But Window Is Closing For May 2nd Date

A few weeks ago I broke some news concerning Pacquiao Vs. Mayweather when Top Rank head Bob Arum went on the record with me. He said that they (Top Rank/Manny) signed off on and agreed to everything and that the other side just needed to deliver Floyd.

Since that conversation there's been other news sources that have been reporting that the networks involved (HBO/Showtime) had some major issues that were holding up the fight. After that came the big Manny Floyd meet up at the Miami Heat game. Once the world saw that, the buzz about the potential monster fight took off like wild fire.

So since my conversation with Arum went out to the masses, I've sat on the sidelines and observed. I've been hesitant to report much else because so many different news sources were reporting different things, and both sides (Pacquiao/Mayweather) have been more stealthy as of late.

Unlike other Monday morning Quarterbacks, such as wanna be Media Cop, Paul Magno, rather than take shots at reporters that actually call the main sources, I decided to wait and jump back in when the timing was better before reporting again.

I rang up a few more

Middleweight Champion’s Unraveling “Taylor” Made for an Evaluation of Boxing’s Legal Vagaries jermain
This past week, 2000 U.S. Olympic bronze medalist and two-time middleweight champion Jermain (Bad Intentions) Taylor, who was once expected to usher in a new era in the middleweight division following back-to-back decision wins over long-reigning champion Bernard (The Executioner) Hopkins, was arrested for the second time in six months on gun-related charges. In late August 2014, Taylor was arrested in connection with shooting his cousin and subsequently indicted on related felony charges. His second arrest came at a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day parade in his native Arkansas, where he was accused of threatening to shoot a woman’s three children and pointing a gun at her husband after he thought that one of the children almost dropped his championship belt. In between the two arrests, Taylor, who had suffered a brain bleed in an October 17, 2009 knockout loss to Arthur Abraham and was not expected to either box or be a serious factor in boxing ever again, capped off an improbable comeback by winning the IBF Middleweight Championship with a 12-round decision over Sam Soliman.

There will be no further title fights after Taylor’s second

Lou DiBella Updates 8CN on Jermain Taylor Arrest And Feb 6th Card In Biloxi, MS Lou DiBella photo

8CountNews just spoke with a very concerned Lou DiBella and got an update on the current situation with Jermain Taylor. DiBella sounded visibly shook up over today's news that Taylor was arrested today on gun charges and endangering the welfare of minors.

Taylor was scheduled to defend his world title Vs. Sergio Mora on February 6th, in Biloxi, MS. DiBella informed 8CountNews that the show will go on as scheduled but a replacement for Taylor is being sought.

More importantly, DiBella is concerned with the welfare of his fighter, and told 8CN, "I'm very concerned for Jermain Taylor's well being. That said, unfortunately actions have consequences."

Taylor is looking at trial for another case that occurred last year in Little Rock where he shot his cousin Tyrone Hinton and was charged with aggravated assault, and released on a 25,000 dollar bond. Taylor plead not guilty, and is awaiting trial. With today's actions, he'll no doubt be looking at further trouble. Missing a boxing match at this point seems to be the very least of his troubles.

Concerning the February 6th card, Dibella told 8CN, "I will hopefully have an announcement within 24 hours on who will be

Return To Glory: Wilder Brings The Title Back To America WilderChamp

The anticipation for this Heavyweight Championship bout has not been seen since the MGM hosted the Tyson Holyfield fight, seventeen years ago. Formidable boxers bringing the same 'bite' of attraction as well as skill has remained a long time coming. Saturday night, the paradigm shift would come at the hands of a Tuscaloosa native, hoping to reignite the divisions void of mainstream appeal. The always eccentric, electrifying, undefeated Deontay Bronze Bomber" Wilder (33-0, 32KOs) claimed the WBC Heavyweight title, ending Bermane B-Ware" Stiverne's (24-2-1, 21KOs) title reign. Amidst the back and forth trash talking, the 6- foot-7 Bronze medalist used his size advantage, and speed to keep the match within reach. In the second round, harkening back to his days at Michigan, Stiverne tackled Wilder after being hit with a devastating blow. The bout was a thrilling showcase of Wilder's skills as a boxer. Wilder kept "B- Ware" at bay with a stiff jab and a stinging right. In Round 9, Stiverne landed his most effective punches but had little effect on the
"Bronze Bomber." Wilder continued to outbox Stiverne in the Championship rounds cruising to a unanimous decision win. Scores were

Pacquiao will let Mayweather have majority cash decision Manny-Pacquiao-Training-1

If you really think that a fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather will never happen you must not be living in America. Of course it will happen, it will perhaps be the biggest fight in history with the biggest cash draw in boxing history. Not if but when still remains the bigger question.

The Pacquiao camp at top rank has given ESPN the latest.

"Top Rank and Manny have agreed to the terms on our side. I don't know about the other side," Top Rank Vice President Carl Moretti said.

Floyd Mayweather's camp has not yet responded to the agreement about the proposed May 2nd fight. According to Dan Rafael from ESPN, Manny has agreed to a 40 percent split of the revenue, with Mayweather mopping up the remaining 60 percent. While a solid commitment has yet to be signed by both parties it is clear that Pacquiao is willing to take the lesser cut to make the fight happen.

Former Jr Middleweight World Champion Sergio "The Latin Snake" Mora will challenge the current IBF Middleweight World Champion Jermain "Bad Intentions" Taylor on February 6th, 2015 at the beautiful Beau Rivage Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, MS.

Mora gets his opportunity several years after turning down a fight Vs. Taylor. It was a calculated risk back then, and Mora had his reasons for it. At the time, Taylor was fighting legends, and world champions. Mora didn't feel ready for the fight, and truth be told, a loss Vs. Pacquiao Crushes Algieri - Cooney's Take PACMAN13

The Pacquiao that carved through 8 weight divisions leaving wakes of destruction piled up behind him is back. Last night Manny Pacquiao systematically destroyed New Yorker Chris Algieri. Pacquiao came out with a kill mentality right from the starting bell of round 1 all the way to the end of the fight. His speed was vastly superior and his power punches were more devastating than anything that Algieri could muster up. It didn't take long for the world to see that Manny Pacquiao was going to be way too much for Chris Algieri to handle.

I give a lot of credit to Freddie Roach and Justine Fortune. Pacquiao has always clicked better working with both men together. Roach, being one

Free fight cards usually don’t get me this giddy, but when you put two men like Cub Swanson and Frankie Edgar in the mix, the whole game changes. Fight Night 57 is an excellent card for those just getting introduced into MMA to get a free taste of how these impeccable athletes move. Attempting to keep up with Edgar is the equivalent of trying to hunt down a fly, in your car, while you’re driving, and eating sushi. You get the idea; he has blazing fast footwork, and is forever a moving target. Swanson on the other hand is no joke; has knockout power, and is currently surfing a cool, six-fight winning streak in the UFC.

The tale of the tape looks a little like this- Frankie “The Answer” Edgar is a veteran, has some of the most exciting wars in UFC history, won his last two fights, and has a record of 16-4-1. Cub {21-5-0}, has equally earned the respect of fight fans with his definitive finishes, explosive “go for broke” fighting style, and is deservedly holding tight onto his place as #2 in the rankings.

TITLE- King Mo isn’t what the doctor ordered AND The Peoples Champ Takes Out a Psycho Bellator-131-Fight-Poster-760x450

The Main event did not disappoint the sold out crowd Saturday Night at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California. ‘Tito The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” (18-11-1) punished the American ‘Psycho’ Stephan Bonnar (15-9) for trash talking his family. Bad blood between the two boiled over during a Press junket on September 5, 2014.
Early in the 1st Round Tito stalks Bonnar, gets the hard pounding single leg take down, although Bonnar rises quickly. By round two, a tired and sluggish Bonnar seemed to forget his height advantage and throw haymakers in hopes of catching Ortiz with a clean shot. After a back and forth showcase, ‘The Peoples Champ’ would see his best round in the third. Tito stayed on the offense delivering short effective punches. In turn hands The ‘Psycho’ bloody busted gashes under both eyes. The fight would go the distance with Ortiz gaining the Split Decision win. 30-27(Ortiz), 29-28 (Bonnar), 30-27 (Ortiz)
After fight antics would continue with Tito flipping ‘F Bombs’ at Bonnar, and Bonner returning the favor, offering Ortiz a invite to a BBQ, where he would serve the victor turd burgers. Now that’s how you show sportsmanship!

BC – What are your thoughts on the upcoming Manny Pacquiao Vs. Chris Algieri fight?

EH – Well I haven't seen a lot of Algieri yet so it's kind of hard to comment on his style of fighting. Pacquiao fights the same way, very aggressive. How it ends up will depend on what kind of experience this guy has.

BC – Do you think Floyd Mayweather will ever fight Pacquiao?

Floyd Mayweather Jr Remains Undefeated With UD Over Maidana floyd-mayweather 600

Pound For Pound King Floyd Mayweather Jr remains undefeated in a very impressive 12 round unanimous decision over Marcos Maidana. The undefeated 5 division world champion moves his record to 47-0.

This fight was much different than the first one. Floyd didn't spend near as much time on the ropes. He kept the fight in the middle of the ring and when he did get on the ropes, he quickly spun out and brought the fight back into the center of the ring.

Floyd used very pin point accurate counter punching, and a highly effective check left hook. Maidana had a few moments in the fight, but few and far between. He did land one very hard punch at the end of round 3 that got Floyd's attention.

In round 8 Floyd and Maidana's hands got tangled up and Chino, just like a chapter out of Tyson/Holyfield, bit Floyd's hand. Floyd immediately doubled over in pain and complaned to the referee, Kenny Bayless. Upon viewing the replay, it did in fact look like Maidana bit Floyd's hand. This was a dirty and poor act of sportsmanship.

8CN's Sabrina Montez is in the MGM tonight and will provide a full report later.

Lewis stated, "The Jermain Taylor incident that took place in Little Rock will have no bearing on the fight here in Mississippi." This is good news for JT and the fans that were planning on attending the fight. Now it's up to the ESPN network to decide on whether or not they still intend to broadcast the fight.

DH: There doesn’t seem to be many books on women’s boxing, particularly the history of the sport. Is that something that prompted you to write this book?

MS: I would say that’s absolutely the case. This is actually the first comprehensive historical review of the sport. There are other books that have been written about aspects of women’s boxing. There are memoirs out there that touch upon women’s boxing. There are chapters

8/16/2014 Showtime Recap

Figueroa TKO 9 Estrada - Omar Figueroa found himself yet again in a firefight as he outlasted the game Daniel Estrada to retain his WBC Lightweight Championship belt. There was no feeling out process for these two as they traded heavy shots early on and often. A deep cut was opened on the forehead of Figueroa by an accidental headbutt in the 8th round that seemed to cause a sense of urgency in the champion. Starting the 9th round, Figueroa landed a massive right hand that put Estrada down hard. Daniel was able to make it to his feet but the end was imminent as Omar came on for the kil forcing the referee to stop the bout. Omar Figueroa remains undefeated as he improves his record to 24-0-1 18KOs while Estrada drops to 32-3-1 24KOs.

Dirrell UD Bika In a rematch of their initial draw this past December, Anthony Dirrell became a champion as he unseated Sakio Bika via unanimous decision to claim the WBC title at 168lbs. The fight was difficult to watch as there

8CN Porter Vs. Book Predictions PorterBrooks1

Porter MD Brook - In a fight that will have some decent exchanges but play out to be more of a tactical encounter, expect Porter to come out victorious after a full 12 rounds. I believe the fight will start off slow with Porter trying to measure out distance, timing, and feeling out the power of "Special K." Brook will be reluctant at times since this will be his first championship fight, he is fighting away from his home confines, and the crowd I believe will be a slight factor since he is considered the "foreigner" here and Porter being the American. Keep in mind, Porter is a Haymon fighter and one scorecard has already been predetermined so I see Porter keeping his title. - Read more...

Ali tells 8CN that early on in the fight he felt a little bit off, more than likely due to fasting for one month during his training camp. Taking nothing away from Bryan, this in fact must had some impact on his energy level. That said, the undefeated former Olympian gutted it out and earned the W.

Ali talks about the fight, and shares his thoughts on what he's learned coming out of it. Check out the Podcast with Brookyln New York's Sadam Ali BELOW

]]> (Minnie Larry) Mon, 04 Aug 2014 13:33:47 GMT Shannon Briggs - Fact or Faked? Briggs1

Former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs has been on a taunting tour that could easily be interpreted as harassment by the man he so desperately wants a payday fight with. Current world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko was recently minding his business eating some Pasta at a restaurant in Miami, Florida when Briggs busted into the joint screaming and hollering.

Klitschko remained calm as Briggs stood before him pounding his chest, and screaming “Everywhere you go, I go champ. What you eat, I eat.” Briggs then snatched the champs pasta plate and began eating from it.

So let's take a look at this action first. Is this fact or faked? Well if it's fact, then Briggs has more to worry about than a cut foot. Legally speaking, that's called theft, and legal charges could be filed against him. If this action was faked, then it's just part of a hype job in order to ramp up a heavyweight fight.

It's Time To Officially Take Notice of GGG GGG

Gennady Golovkin – referred to many as “GGG” – is the sport’s brightest star. No fighter since Mike Tyson was crushing skulls in the eighties has been worthy of donning the self-proclaimed “Baddest Man on the Planet” mantra.

That perception all changed Saturday night when Gennady Golovkin destroyed Daniel Geale (30-3, 16 KO’s) by 3rd round knockout in front of a full house at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

Geale, who came in to the bout ranked #2 at middleweight according to The Ring Magazine’s latest rankings, had never suffered a knockout loss in ten years as a professional. It was a new experience for the native of Australia, but nothing more than another day at the job for Golovkin, who has now stopped seventeen straight opponents – a streak that goes all the way back
