Ortiz vs Evans Now Set According to Dana White

July 13th, 2011

After initially turning down the bout with Rashad Evans, Tito Ortiz has been persuaded by UFC brass to rematch the former Light Heavyweight Champion.

Tito Ortiz will be returning after only a month long vacation from his last fight. Ortiz`s last bout came July 6th against Ryan Bader in which he won for the first time in 5 years. Conveniently in Ortiz' only non-loss during his 5 year winless period came against none other than Rashad Evans.

Perhaps it was a monetary persuasion or one fueled by revenge that has coaxed Ortiz back inside the Octagon, but either way I'm glad to see him back. This is honestly a fight that I can see Ortiz winning. Stylistically, Ortiz has a very difficult style for Evans to neutralize and as we saw in the combatants first bout, Ortiz can handle himself with the talented Rashad Evans.

The first bout saw a draw, though a point deduction from Tito Ortiz was the only factor in the outcome of the bout.

Stay tuned to for more breaking news for UFC 133 and the main event.
