Lightweight Contender Anges Adjaho is currently in Orwell , Ohio at the Don King Training Camp, preparing for a December 11th showdown against Fernando Angulo, the Benin , West African native told 8CountNews earlier this week. The hopeful Adjaho-Angulo clash will serve as a key undercard to Steve Cunningham’s IBF Cruiserweight Title defense against Tomasz Adamek at the Prudential Center in Newark , New Jersey .
Adjaho sports a 24-1 record with 14 knockouts and is coming off of a stoppage victory over Jesus Salvador Perez this past September 13th. With Adjaho in camp currently are former champion Cory Spinks and 20-1 Featherweight Elio Rojas, among others.
Adjaho’s victory over Perez took place at the Beau Rivage Resort underneath the Nate Campbell-Joan Guzman clash that fell apart after the Dominican failed to make weight. Adjaho’s performance against Perez could best be described as professional and workmanlike, as he broke the Columbian down slowly but surely, eventually forcing his older foe to remain on his stool after the 5th round.
Adjaho had prepared for the Perez bout down in Fort Lauderdale , Florida at Contender’s Gym under the tutelage of John David Jackson. While in Fort Lauderdale , Adjaho also was one of Campbell ’s chief sparring partners and gave the Lightweight Champion some of his most rigorous work in preparation for Guzman.
Adjaho still hopes to eventually return to training camp down in South Florida , but for the moment he is content with readying himself in Ohio at the confines of King’s Training Camp.
“I feel pretty strong,” Adjaho claimed. “Maybe not as strong as I was for my last fight but everything is coming together for me. I have a job to do and I will be ready to rumble on the 11th.”
