Carlos Quintana OUT next Friday Night!

January 7th, 2009

Duran-Albert rematch scheduled

An unexpected injury to Carlos Quintana earlier this week has postponed his return to the ring. In a move up to the Light Middleweight division, Quintana was scheduled to fight in the main event January 16th on ESPN Friday Night Fights against Eromosele Albert in Key West, FL.

Earlier today, DEJ Management found an intriguing replacement in Ossie Duran. Duran and Albert fought to a grueling 12 round draw last September in New York for the IBF Continental Africa Light Middleweight title. Both fighters split two judges’ cards by a wide margin with Albert ahead on one card 117-11 while Duran was ahead 116-12 on another. The third judge declared the fight a 114-114 draw. Both fighters thought they had clearly won the fight.
