Campbell Loses Titles on The Scales!
February 13th, 2009
Chris Robinson
Nate Campbell failed to make weight today for his scheduled world title bout that will be televised on HBO tomorrow night. Campbell stepped on the scale at 138lbs, three full pounds over the contracted agreement of 135lbs. Campbell’s opponent Ali Funeka, came in at 133 1/2 lbs. Campbell was given two hours to make the weight, but upon his second attempt, he was only able to shed a half of pound (137.5lb). As a result, Campbell loses his titles on the scales. The fight will still go as planned, however Campbell still loses his titles no matter what the outcome of the fight is. In the event that Ali Funeka is able to pull off a victory he will then be crowned world champion.
