Two of the hardest hitters in the Light Welterweight division, Randall Bailey and Juan Urango, will square off on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights August 28th at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida for Urango’s IBF title. Both Bailey and Urango have had success this year on Friday Night Fights. In January, Urango battered Herman Ngoudjo over twelve rounds to gain the vacant IBF Junior Welterweight title in Montreal, Canada on ESPN. In late May, Urango made an unsuccessful bid to become a two-division world champion by losing to WBC Welterweight champion Andre Berto on HBO.
As for Bailey, he is coming off a sensational knockout over Francisco Figueroa in April on ESPN to become the number one contender for Urango’s IBF title. The two-time world champion has won four straight and eleven of his last twelve fights, dating back to 2004. Along with his trainer John David Jackson, Bailey and fellow light welterweight contender Nate Campbell are set to start training camp in Key West, Florida later on this month.
