HBO Results: Maidana TKO's Ortiz!

Golden Boy's promising interim champion Victor Ortiz ran flat into a buzz saw tonight in Marcos Maidana. Ortiz dropped Maidana once in the 1st round, and twice in the second round, and still came up on the short end of the stick. Maidana returning the favor, dropped Ortiz in the first round as well, and with a relentless pressing attack, with several unanswered right hands, Maidana basically made Ortiz quit in the 6th round. Ortiz was game, but surprised the crowd and the HBO announcers with his unwillingness to go on.
