Former Contender star Ishe Smith has inked a deal to face rising star Daniel Jacobs. The fight is scheduled to take place on August 22nd, in Houston, Texas on HBO. Ishe has been waiting for an opportunity like this to come his way, and it appears as if it has. This has the makings of an action packed fight, as Jacobs comes forward and packs a dangerous right hand, and Ishe has crafty counterpunching and excellent defense. Smith informed 8CN that he signed his contract yesterday, and that he is taking this fight very seriously. Smith as agreed to fight at 160lbs. A win for Smith against the undefeated Jacobs would no doubt up his stock and open up further opportunities. A win for Jacobs and he notches another victory against a named fighter, thus upping his stock as well.
