"Hook City" Roy Jones Jr Returns August 15th!

August 15th, in Biloxi, MS at the Gulf Coast Arena, marks the return of the legendary Roy Jones Jr.  Roy will face former world champ Jeff "Left Hook" Lacy, in what has every indication of a very interesting matchup.  Roy Jones looks to position himself for a title shot against current light heavyweight champ Danny Green, who will also be fighting on the card against a dangerous Julio Cesar Dominguez.  But don't count Lacy out of this fight, he still packs a punch, and if he's able to land one on the chin of Jones, you never know what can happen.  Lacy is a very live opponent for Jones, one that Jones should not take lightly.  This is a crossroads fight for both fighters, a loss for Jones would prove difficult for him to move forward towards title shots.  A loss for Lacy, and he will have to add another loss to his resume against a big name fighter, thus dropping his stock as well.

WBA light heavyweight world champion Danny Green takes on Julio Cesar Dominguez for the IBO cruiserweight title.  Just like Jones, Green hopes everything plays out in favor of the favorites as he looks for a chance to take on Roy Jones Jr in the not so far future.  Green, of Australia arrived in Biloxi earlier in the week as to get used to the southern USA climate.  He's not a boxing household name in the states, but the guy can fight and looks to show his skills in front of the American audience.

Also appearing on the card will be cruiserweight contender B.J. Flores vs Epifanio Mendoza.  Flores is a rising cruiserweight contender looking to inch closer to a world title shot, so this is a big fight for him.  Mendoza ironically recently faced Jeff Lacy and came up short in a fairly close contest.  Another notable opponent was against current world champion "Bad" Chad Dawson.  Flores looks to continue his undefeated record and work towards the top tier of the cruiserweight division. 

In a battle of lightweights, the always tough Verquan Kimbrough will take on Jason Litzau.  If you watch ESPN much, you will have seen Litzau electrifying the crowd with speed, and heart, and power.  Kimbrough brings a dangerous arsenal to the table as well, good speed, punches in bunches, and a real come forward style of fighting.  This fight could possibly steal the show when you look at the matchup between the two.
