It will be a night of action September 18 in Santa Ynez,California. With plenty of heavyweight, bantamweight, and featherweight action for Showtime boxing fans. Heavyweights Travis "GW Hope" Kauffman 18-0 will face Tony Grano 15-1 in a 10 round bout.
Sabrina Montez: "Travis are you ready for this Showtime fight on a big stage?
Travis Kauffman: "Yes I fought on Showtime before just wasn't the headliner.......to me it is a huge opportunity, and i intend to shine under the lights."
Kauffman's last Showtime performance was on the Darchinyan vs. Arce undercard February of this year. He had a very quick dominating performance over Cliff Couser. A tko in the 1st round. I remember seeing a visibly upset Couser but an elated Kauffman back stage after that fight. Since then Kauffman has knocked out his last 2 opponents. Kauffman has been training hard for this fight. Sparring with cruiserweight Matt Godfrey and many others. Tony Grano has a very big task to overcome. He hasn't fought anyone with Kauffman's punching power. Kauffman looks to add another win to his undefeated record.
Also on the Showtime card will be young rising star Chris Avalos 11-0 against Willshaun Boxley 5-1. Both fighters have one thing in common. They both defeated a very good veteran out of Colorado Torrence Daniels. The California native Avalos also knocked out his last 2 opponents since fighting on the Darchinyan vs. Arce undercard. Boxely doesn't have as much ring experience as Avalos. Avalos is a patient but quick puncher. He usually starts out slow in his fights then turns up the heat in later rounds. Boxely should take advantage and come out aggressive. Avalos will be ready.. I've met the Avalos family, very kind people who support Chris at all his fights. He will definitely do his best not to disappoint his family or his hometown crowd.
This looks to be another successful card by Gary Shaw productions.
