In another bizarre twist, the Brian Minto – Donnell Holmes August 14th heavyweight fight that was changed to a no contest from a Technical Decision win for Minto on Monday by the Pennsylvania boxing commission, has now been changed back to a victory for Minto.
“The state attorney general ruled that she wasn’t going to sign the papers for a no contest”, Minto told 8countnews.com, “Obviously she realized that it wasn’t the right call that they made.”
In the 4th round of their fight, Minto was cut over the left eyelid and blood began to stream down his face. The cut was initially ruled to be cause by an accidental headbutt. Holmes camp argued that it was caused by a punch. Video from the broadcast on www.NESportsTV.com shows an accidental clash of heads midway through the round, with both Minto and Holmes glancing at the referee shortly afterwards, followed by blood beginning to stream down Minto’s face.
Another hearing has been set on this matter, most likely to take place in the next few weeks.
