Showtime Results: Kessler TKO's Perdomo/ Ward destroys Pudwill

WBA Super Middleweight world champion, Mikkel Kessler (42-1-32KO) retained his title with an impressive win over Gusmyr Perdomo (16-4-10KO). Kessler was able to get Perdomo out of there in the 4th round. Perdomo put forth a good effort through 3 rounds, but in the 4th round he allowed Kessler to close the gap. The 4th round was all Kessler, he threw beautiful one two punches that met their mark. The referee called a halt to the action at 51 seconds of the 4th round. This victory gets Kessler ready for his big upcoming fight against Andre Ward in November at the Super Six tournament on Showtime.

Former US Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward (20-0-13KO) destroyed an outmatched Shelby Pudwill (22-4-9KO-1D). Ward was obviously the more talented, and much quicker fighter. Pudwill had no answers, but put up enough resistance to give Ward a little workout for a few rounds. Ward knocked Pudwill down in the 3rd round, and then finished him off later in the same round with a nice left hook. The hook that landed was enough for the referee to call a halt to the action at 2:16 of round 3.
