Bailey blasts Bonsu in Belgium
March 19th, 2010
8CN's Aaron Skinner and Randall Baily
Going to Belgium, Randall Bailey knew he needed a knockout against Jackson Bonsu in order to come out with the win. The knockout he needed, he got early on. Just seconds into the fight the Knockout King, floored Bonsu. Not long after, a thunderous left hand put Bonsu to sleep. Tony Weeks waived the fight off just one minute into the first round. Up next for Bailey, pound for pound, one of the hardest punchers in boxing is an IBF Welterweight title shot.
No one could have been more thrilled of the win than Bailey’s manager, Si Stern. Stern, who is co promoting Saturday night’s Fox Sports Net card in Key West was thrilled with the victory. Smiling from ear to ear, Stern said, “ this weekend is going to be great. My top fighter just scored a spectacular knockout and now will be fighting for a world title again. So many people have written Randall [Bailey] off and he has proven them all wrong. I have three guys fighting Saturday and Derrick Wilson fighting Thursday on Versus. This is a huge week for me and my guys and I couldn’t be happier.”
