Madison signs with King
April 23rd, 2010
New York State Heavyweight Champion Darrel “King David” Madison is no longer a free agent, after inking a contract with Don King earlier this week. Madison, who has notable wins over Zuri Lawrence, Domonic Jenkins and Nagy Aguilera is thrilled to be fighting for King and getting an opportunity to climb up the rankings. Madison spoke to 8CN earlier today and said, “It is nice to have a team behind be where all I have to do is fight and not worry about chasing guys down to fight me and all the other business outside the ring. This is a big opportunity for me and I am excited and thankful for this chance.”
In his last fight, Madison scored a win over veteran Robert Wiggins after Wiggins failed to come out for round three. The southpaw, who turned pro in 2006, has a record of 15-1, with four wins by knockout. Madison’s debut with Don King is scheduled in St. Louis August 7th on the Devon Alexander under card.
