SHOBOX Results! Guerrero stays undefeated Porter gets by Robinson

Undefeated NABO middleweight champion Fernando Guerrero fought 10 hard rounds and defeated Ishe Smith tonight on Showbox, in Southaven Mississippi.  Guerrero had a very tough come forward Ishe Smith in front of him all night long.  Smith actually came on strong at the end of the fight and in doing so was able to narrow the scores up in the end.  Guerrero did what he had to do against a wiley veteran who came to win.  Fernando moves to (19-0-15KO) and now looks to move forward and up one more notch.  The way in which Ishe Smith fought, I do not believe that his career is over with.  Smith scored a knockdown in the 8th round, and rallied late in the fight but it was not enough.

NABO Jr middleweight champion Shawn Porter (16-0-12KO) had a very tough opponent in front him for the duration.  Ray Robinson (11-2-4KO) came to win, and fought hard throughout the fight.  Porter looked a little tight through the first half of the fight, but loosened up as the rounds went on.   Porter scored a knockdown in the 6th round sending Robinson crashing to the canvass.  Porter turned up the action from round 6 to the end of the fight.  An accidental headbutt in the 8th round opened up a cut over Porters eye, but because of some good cut-man work in the corner, it didn't seem to have bothered him much.  With the victory, Porter gets a nice win over a very worthy step up opponent. Robinson fought a hard tough fight and I don't think we have heard the last of him.
