Rodriguez robbed of victory in Oklahoma
July 30th, 2010
Danbury Connecticut's Delvin Rodriguez (ranked #3 in the world by the IBF) was the victim of an Oklahoma highway robbery tonight on ESPN's Friday Night Fight's. Yet again, incompetent boxing judges rip a victory away from a young fighter who clearly deserved the win. When will the sport finally start holding judges who have no business sitting next to a ring accountable for their actions? 8CN scored the fight 7 rounds to 3 for Rodriguez. The Oklahoma gift given to Ashley Theophane (27-4-1, 7 KOs) is a tough blow for Rodriguez, but he can recover from it. Anyone remotely close to having vision in their eyes saw who really won this fight. Unfortunately a few boxing judges in Oklahoma took a fight away from a young kid who won this fight going away. Official scores were 95-95, 96-94, 96-94 gift on a silver platter to Theophane.
