Alexander not so spectacular but gets the W Cloud retains title edges out Glen Johnson
August 7th, 2010
Devon Alexander Vs. Andriy Kotelnik
IBF/WBC Jr welterweight world champion Devon Alexander banged out 12 close rounds against former champ Andriy Kotelnik. Alexander was the busier fighter, but Kotelnik definitely had his moments and landed the harder more effective punches. This was not a spectacular performance for the young Alexander, but he did what he needed to do in order to get the victory. After the fight Alexander called out Timothy Bradley, a fight that hopefully will push through.
Official scores - all three judges 116 112 UD Alexander
Tavoris Cloud Vs. Glen Johnson
IBF light heavyweight champ Tavoris Cloud retained his title in a close back and forth battle against Glen Johnson tonight on HBO's Boxing After Dark. The fight was much closer than the 116/112 scores the three judges had it. HBO's Harold Lederman scored the fight a draw, and 8CN agrees with that score as well. Johnson did get stunned one time by Cloud, and almost went down. Johnson has had a histrory of getting robbed in big fights. This one probably was not a robbery, but the scores were much closer than what the judges scored it.
Official scores 116/112 UD Cloud
