Manfredo, a proven draw in the New England area, was a free agent after breaking away from TKO promotions who has promoted him for his past three fights.
Manfredo is on a four fight winning streak since being TKO’d by Sakio Bika in 2008. He’s won two straight as a middleweight since dropping down a division following a campaign in the super middleweight division. Earlier this summer, Manfredo was offered a fight with German middleweight titleholder Felix Sturm, but his team turned down the offer over a reluctance to sign options with German promoter Universum.
According to boxingscene.com, Dibella is planning on doing a fight card as part of his “Broadway Boxing” series in New England this fall. It wouldn’t be Dibella’s first foray into New England with the series as he has twice promoted shows in Worcester headlined by hometown super middleweight Edwin Rodriguez. Rodriguez, like Manfredo Jr., is trained by Peter Manfredo Sr.
Dibella has said before that he would like to promote more in New England and has mentioned possibly running a show at one of Boston’s many colleges in the fall once school begins.
Quincy based junior lightweight Ryan Kielczewski (8-0, 2 KO’s) has also fought on Dibella shows at least three times in his young career. However, he is not listed as a Dibella fighter on their official website.
